Welcome Reception

Meet other participants in the hotel’s pub where a traditional Dutch welcome awaits you with snacks, drinks, and a performance by ‘cheese maids’ (reminiscent of the typical Dutch cheese market) in traditional costumes and clogs. You will receive two tokens for free drinks together with your participant file upon registration at the registration desk.
Conference dinner
Thursday August 21: 20.00 – 23.00 (closing).

Venue: Restaurant Nautilus is situated a 5-minute walk from the hotel, towards the beach on the left side. We have reserved the roof terrace (indoor and outdoor seating.) Dinner will be served in a ‘walking dinner’ style, which means guests will enjoy a variety of appetizers and dishes. There will also be a seat for everyone. A special guest host will welcome and entertain us, fostering a festive and playful atmosphere for all join in.
Sightseeing on your own in Egmond aan Zee
Participants can:
- take a walk on the beach. It is a 2-hour walk to the next village, and one can take a return bus to Egmond.
- Please do not venture too far into the pleasantly warm sea alone, as the currents can be treacherous. A life guard is on duty only during the day.
- explore the Egmond Village Fair on Wednesday evenings.
- visit the lighthouse from 11:00-13:00 daily, and from 19:00-21:00 on Friday evenings.
- rent a bike and discover the beautiful surroundings.
- board the bus in front of the hotel to the typical Dutch town of Alkmaar.
- take a 20-minute trip by bus or bike to the unique Egmond Abbey In Egmond-Binnen.
Book and Miniature Sales
We invite participants to sell their own published books on Sandplay and Jungian literature, used books and literature on topics covered at the congress (no more than 10 books a person, please). We also encourage participants to sell miniatures from their own countries, or to make unique valuable figurines available for a silent auction.
Sellers are welcome to donate a portion of their profit to the ISST.
